84 Lumber Facility Sells at Auction for $2.55 Million
Thursday, February 26, 2009 Tampa, Florida - In a market besieged with beleaguered bailout attempts and plummeting real estate prices Higgenbotham Auctioneers International (HAI) continues to buck the trend as they announced the successful $2.55 million dollar sale of a Gibsonton Florida truss plant, owned by Pennsylvania based 84 Lumber.
The auction was held onsite on Thursday morning at 6225 Powell Road, Gibsonton, Florida and was attended by 25 local and regional businessmen. “Bidding was very active and interest in the former truss plant was very high,” commented John Haney, General Manager for HAI.
When asked how the auction process affected yesterday’s sale Haney stated “We continue to see that the auction process can produce fair market value even in today’s challenging times. From day one 84 Lumber believed in the process and let the system work for them.”
The property was auctioned in cooperation with IronPlanet Real Estate whose partnership with HAI has successfully generated more than $20 million in real estate transactions over the past four months alone.
